Double injection molding refers to the process of injecting two different materials into the same set of molds, in order to achieve the molding of parts formed by two different materials. Some two materials are of different colors, while others are soft and hard, thereby improving the aesthetic and assembly performance of the product.
Compared to traditional injection molding, the double injection molding process has the following advantages:
- Core materials can use low viscosity materials to reduce injection pressure.
- From an environmental perspective, recycled secondary materials can be used for core materials.
- According to different usage characteristics, for example, soft materials are used for thick finished product skin materials, hard materials are used for core materials, or foam plastics can be used for core materials to reduce weight.
- Lower quality core materials can be utilized to reduce costs.
- Skin or core materials can be made using expensive and special surface properties such as electromagnetic interference resistance and high conductivity to enhance product performance.
- The appropriate combination of skin and core materials can reduce residual stress in the formed product, increase mechanical strength or surface properties of the product.
- Produce products with marble patterns.
